TheTeatro Larais at Corredera Baja de San Pablo 15, between Gran Vía and Malasaña.ÔVEN Fuencarralis around seven minutes away on foot, at Fuencarral 74. Two addresses in the same neighbourhood: that is the whole advantage, with no logistics to solve.
Lara is one of Madrid’s historic theatres, opened in 1880, and now operates across several spaces: the main auditorium, Cándido Lara and the off-stage venue. That means simultaneous programming and, above all, shows that start very late: alongside the 20:00 performances, there are shows at 22:00 and 22:30.
For dinner, the effect is familiar in Malasaña: peak dining time overlaps with performance times. Between 20:00 and 21:30, the area is packed, and finding an unreserved table is a matter of luck.
From the theatre entrance, head up Corredera Baja de San Pablo to Calle de la Puebla or San Bernardo, then on to Fuencarral. A short route through Malasaña’s streets.

Here is the perfect fit: if your show starts at 22:30,dinner beforehand is perfectly possiblebecause the kitchen opens at 12:00 and stays open through the afternoon. And if it starts at 20:00 and you leave around 21:45, the kitchen is still open untilmidnight Sunday to Thursdayand01:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
For afterwards:Lasagna Bolognese, Fagottino Basilico— little pasta parcels filled with ricotta and basil, with four-cheese sauce — orLa Stella di ÔVEN.
Lara attracts plenty of group outings, and at nine on a Saturday, Malasaña is one of the hardest parts of the centre in which to find a table for eight without warning. Book atBookingsand mention the show’s start time so service can be planned around it.

Yes, easily. The kitchen is open continuously from 12:00, so you can enjoy dinner at 20:30 or 21:00 and reach the theatre in seven minutes on foot.
That works too. Leaving around 21:45, you have until midnight Sunday to Thursday or 01:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. It is one of the easiest areas in central Madrid for dinner after the theatre.
Strongly recommended, especially between 20:00 and 21:30, when the neighbourhood’s peak time overlaps with performances. Essential for groups.
